Usually have mounts for racks and fenders and often mounts for much, much more. Wide tires, drop bars, usually not to crazy hard gearing or race geometry. If you want to try a drop bar bike: gravel. It doesn't sound like you want a duplicate. The Dual Sport looks an awful lot like you'd be buying a newer version of what you already have with a stiffer frame. They probably won't have that "classic" level-toptube look unless you spend a bunch more though. You don't have to ride them on gravel or off road to enjoy the comfort of wider, supple tires. I think of them more like "drop bar bikes for normal people." People that want wider tires, but don't want a "race" bike. I'm one I've of the folks that's kind of annoyed about the "gravel" name is gravel bikes. I also don’t know many people that ride gravel bikes so I want to make sure that it is a good idea.ĭo you guys have any advice for an inexperienced bike lover that wants to start somewhere? Or any other bikes I should look into? Thank you. However, I’m either overthinking it or not so sure about what fits me best.

Then the gravel one I find interesting because I can ride it on road and other not crazy terrains. If at any point, I want to ride trails, I’d just take my old bike. The thing I don’t really like about the hybrid idea is that it looks similar to the one I already own. Gravel: Specialized Diverge Base E5 or similar ( ) Hybrid: Trek, Dual Sports 4 or similar ( ) Here are my options (please tell me if you think there’s better options as I am open to anything) However, I want to make sure I make the best decision for myself because I want to keep this one for some years and feel like I love the bike I ride.
ENDURANCE BIKE VS GRAVEL BIKE PRO
Like I said, I’m not a pro at anything bike-related, but I want to start somewhere. My whole dilemma now comes from me wanting to get a new bike (I’m not selling mine, I’m leaving it at my parent’s home in case I ever want to use it for trails) and now I’m wondering if I should either get a hybrid bike or a gravel bike. However, as I got older, I started to really appreciate the look of the road bikes as well as the whole idea behind it which I find fascinating to have as a hobby. I used to go to trails a ton before and had an amazing time. At that time, I didn’t know much about bikes (I still don’t btw) and honestly just went along the typical shape I knew which is the regular MTB handrail and frame. I recently got into riding my bike a LOT more - I had purchased a Liv Tempt 4 as my first formal bike when I was about 20.
